Overview of Primary One Maths (Singapore syllabus)

Primary 1 (sometimes written or called Primary One or P1) is an exciting beginning journey of a child’s formal education in life. The child is introduced to three examinable curriculum subjects for primary school – English, Mathematics and Mother Tongue.

The latest Primary 1 Maths Topics can be broadly divided into 3 main branches – Numbers, Measurement and Geometry and Graphs.

Numbers

Primary 1 Maths questions include simple counting before moving on to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Measurement and Geometry

Primary One Maths worksheets cover Shapes, Length, Time and Money (see Primary 1 Money Worksheets).

Graphs

The P1 Maths worksheets under Graphs mainly focus on Picture Graphs where children read and interpret picture graphs.

There are many available Primary 1 Maths worksheets, both online and at physical bookstores. These P1 Maths worksheets and P1 Maths test papers generally help your child to gain enough practice to commit routine questions to memory but do not really challenge your child’s in-depth thinking capacity.
